Hi everyone!

You haven’t heard much from me lately as I took another sabbatical from blogging to continue my studies in Feng Shui.

(There is always more to learn and as you know, feng shui is my passion)!I’m so excited to share some wonderful ideas and tips on how Feng Shui can improve your life! I will be blogging regularly to assist you in any way I can!

I must tell you the joy I personally receive from having good Feng Shui in my own life. I’ve had many challenges,  my share of heartbreak and disappointments but I can tell you truthfully, that with out the balance and  harmony that feng shui has provided for me, I would be a mess!

No, I’m not being dramatic…it’s true!!

I also believe in the power of prayer. Since Feng Shui has absolutely nothing to do with religion, I am free to worship as I wish. Feng Shui will never get in the way of my strong belief in God and my Christian beliefs.

I also receive so much joy from my clients who report such wonderful results from having Feng Shui done in their homes and offices! Maybe that’s why I often suffer from TMJ symptoms as I’m constantly smiling from ear to ear! (I must run that by my doctor)!!

Today I have a tip for you!

MIRRORS!

I get questions about mirrors so often in my practice that I decided to  devote some blogging time to try and clear up some confusion.

So many people ask me about mirrors in the bedroom! In our school of Feng Shui, mirrors placed correctly in a bedroom are a good source of positive energy.

A round or oval mirror in a master bedroom is always good for marital harmony. (If you’re standing at the door of your bedroom, the best place for the mirror would be the far right corner of the room. This is considered the Marriage and Relationship corner of the bedroom).

Another good place would be on the wall behind your bed. Now, many of you worry about earthquakes here in California, but if you have a good handyman who can secure it with bolts, etc. you’ll be fine.

The main “remedy” for a mirror behind the bed is that issues of the past can be released and resolved. (This was important for me personally as I had to work through some painful issues in my own life)!

I have a lovely antique mirror behind my bed and I feel quite safe. The way it’s secured, the entire wall would have to fall, in which case? Oh dear!!

Check in with me again to get some more tips on how to encourage abundance, prosperity, better health and happier relationships with Feng Shui!

I send Many Blessings,

Elaine

There is a wonderful saying that “Mirrors are the Aspirin of Feng Shui!

I first heard the statement in one of my classes years ago and I must say, I was intriqued!

Regarding Feng Shui, there are different schools and  techniques and that can be somewhat confusing for someone looking for the right answer… Especially with the use of mirrors.!

For me, it was easy. I was being trained by one of the most brilliant  teachers in Feng Shui! I followed his teachings to the max and that resulted in the most profound results for my own students and clients!

And that’s why I get to share some wonderful tips with you!

Last week, I talked about mirrors in the bedroom. Today, we are still in the bedroom, but I want to give you a tip on how a mirror or two may help with sleep issues.

INSOMNIA!

There seems to be a plague going around where more and more people are having sleep issues. The amount of sleep medication in this country is at an all time high.

Before you head for the medicine cabinet, maybe try a simple Feng Shui “remedy” used to help you sleep and stay asleep. (It’s so simple, it’s ridiculous)!

It’s not a magic cure, but it really helps!

I hear you. You’re giggling as you peruse your shelf. How can I possibly live without my: Ambien, Lunesta, Rozerem and even melatonin (which has some weird side affects for some people). I had some nasty nightmares on melatonin!

Now, I’m not suggesting that you go cold turkey and throw out your medication!!! Yipes, NO!! And always talk to your doctor before making ANY medication changes!!

But if you’re thinking about going on sleep medication, or maybe you’re trying to scale down on what you’re already taking, try this non invasive, perfectly benign sleep “remedy.” (When my stress level was out of control, I tried this and it helped)!

REMEDY

Find a 3″ round plain mirror.  (See above).

Next you’ll  want to lift your mattress a bit to place the mirror (mirrored side up) between the mattress and the box spring right below your head.

Visualize that the mirror is producing a calming and balancing affect on your body. See yourself falling asleep and staying asleep all night. Each night before getting in bed, think of the mirror and how lovely your sleep will be!

It sounds too easy, but it is known to work more times than not, so give it a try and let me know what happens!! It certainly can’t hurt!!

Happy Snoozing!

Elaine

Next week I’ll talk about mirror remedies for breathing or lung problems. (A mirror remedy might help asthma, especially for children)!

The use of Mirrors in Feng Shui

The use of mirrors in feng shui is often referred to as “the aspirin of feng shui.”

The reason is that mirrors produce many benefits and can create a host of enhancements, protection, and adjustments to aid in the healthy flow of energy throughout your environment.

One of the main reasons I love mirrors is that they provide a wonderful opportunity to pull in the aspects of nature into your space. (I often suggest the placement of a certain type of convex mirror for my clients who live near the ocean).

By placing a mirror on the outside wall of their home, reflecting the ocean, the mirror is used to pull in either Wealth, Business or Relationship energy)!

Feng Shui mirrors may also be used to push back what would be considered negative energy. By placing (what is called a BaGua mirror) facing the negativity, the mirror will reflect the negative energy back to it’s source.

One instance of a negativity would be your front door facing a T intersection, or outside your bedroom window, a huge power line is close by!

One place a mirror should never live is at the foot of your bed. This is agreed on by all schools of Feng Shui!

That being said, our school of Feng Shui teaches us that a round or oblong mirror placed in the SW wall of your bedroom can enhance marital harmony!

If your entryway seems congested first; clear out the clutter, and then open up the space with a mirror properly positioned on the wall.

Feng Shui Mirrors…In The Bedroom?

There is a popular saying about mirrors that I love.. and the saying is;

Mirrors are the Aspirin of Feng Shui!” And how true it is. When you place a mirror in the proper place, you create a dramatic flow of energy to a given space.

For instance, mirrors are often used to expand a space and give it a sense of breath. Using a mirror in a small entryway dramatically helps in drawing beneficial “chi” or energy into your home.

But what about bedrooms? Some schools of Feng Shui do not recommend  mirrors in the bedroom, and I respect that belief. However in our school of feng shui, (often referred to as The Western School Of Feng Shui) we believe that properly placed mirrors in the bedroom can generate healthy romantic relationships and passion.

You may add a round or oval mirror in the RELATIONSHIP corner of your bedroom. (Standing in the bedroom doorway… this area is to the far right corner of the room). This placement is considered an ideal placement of a bedroom mirror.

Round and oval mirror shapes create unity. One placed in your bedroom can help in attracting more harmony in your relationship. It may also help in attracting a brand new relationship into your life!

The only place that we do not recommend you place a mirror is at the foot of your bed.

Blessings, Elaine

Feng Shui and Mirrors

Mirrors are sometimes called “the Aspirin of Feng Shui” because they are used in a number of ways to improve the energy or “chi” of your environment.

Mirrors can fill in the ‘missing areas’ of the BaGua (floorplan) of your home. If you hang the mirror on the wall facing the missing area, you can compensate for the area that’s missing and complete the space.

A mirror placed on the wall near your front entrance can create a sense of  openness, especially if your entrance is small and cramped.

A mirror can attract positive chi from the outside if placed correctly. For instance, if you live near water such as the beach or a flowing stream, a mirror can reflect this positive energy directly  into your home.

If you have a door that doesn’t open in your home, we call them (dead doors) meaning  they are either blocked, painted shut or otherwise not able to open, there is a solution. Place a mirror on the door to restore good feng shui!

I’ll have so much more about mirrors in upcoming posts. There’s a ‘wealth’ of information I’d like to share with you regarding the usage of mirrors  in feng shui, so stay tuned!
