Greetings all!

Is your bedroom over your garage!! (Help is on the way)!

When I am consulting with clients, I have already read their floor plans so I have an opportunity to see many issues on paper before I visit their homes.

One issue in particular that concerns me, is a bedroom over a garage. If any member of your family is sleeping over your garage it could have a negative affect on health and well-being.

If you have a garage under your bedroom or under your child’s bedroom, we need to talk!

A garage is considered in Feng Shui a “negative energy space.” Meaning that a garage is an unstable place. Sound troublesome? Let me explain.

There are a few issues that you should be aware of when you sleep above a garage. The garage is normally a place where cars are parked OR (mostly) clutter has gained control over the whole space! Sound familiar?

Since clutter stops the healing flow of (chi) or energy, you are literally sleeping over stagnation! Not too swell! If your health is fragile or you are not sleeping well, this could make it worse..

Children maybe even more affected! .

When cars are going in and out, the energy in the garage has a hard time stabilizing, creating a space that is weak and changeable. On top of that, parked cars also create a huge magnetic energy field, and that issue has been associated with lethargy, headaches, sleep disorders and certain illnesses. Sleeping over that would make me a tad nervous!

Now, what to do??

Here are two of the major “remedies” we use for correcting the negative aspects of this issue.

  1. Hang a large brass wind chime in the center ceiling of the garage. (This will help move energy upward and begin to dissipate some of the stagnation).
  2. In the above bedroom, to help stabilize the entire space, place four heavy weights, either 4 rocks, 4 heavy vases, or 4 quartz crystals in all four corners of the room. (This will also work to “ground” the occupant above).

Let me know if you sleep better and have more energy! Also, you may see your child do better in school!!

Many Blessings to you!

Elaine

The use of Mirrors in Feng Shui

The use of mirrors in feng shui is often referred to as “the aspirin of feng shui.”

The reason is that mirrors produce many benefits and can create a host of enhancements, protection, and adjustments to aid in the healthy flow of energy throughout your environment.

One of the main reasons I love mirrors is that they provide a wonderful opportunity to pull in the aspects of nature into your space. (I often suggest the placement of a certain type of convex mirror for my clients who live near the ocean).

By placing a mirror on the outside wall of their home, reflecting the ocean, the mirror is used to pull in either Wealth, Business or Relationship energy)!

Feng Shui mirrors may also be used to push back what would be considered negative energy. By placing (what is called a BaGua mirror) facing the negativity, the mirror will reflect the negative energy back to it’s source.

One instance of a negativity would be your front door facing a T intersection, or outside your bedroom window, a huge power line is close by!

One place a mirror should never live is at the foot of your bed. This is agreed on by all schools of Feng Shui!

That being said, our school of Feng Shui teaches us that a round or oblong mirror placed in the SW wall of your bedroom can enhance marital harmony!

If your entryway seems congested first; clear out the clutter, and then open up the space with a mirror properly positioned on the wall.

If you’re looking for a wonderful assortment of mirrors to choose  from, you  may find something special from the website below. I shop here and love my choices! !

Summer is just around the corner, the kids are out of school and vacation plans are happening!

I was doing a lecture on feng Shui not too long ago and mentioned that you can take your feng shui on the road with you! I can’t tell you how many hands went up and the questions started!

“How is that possibe?’ Feng Shui is only for homes and offices said one person. How can you travel with it?

Well I’d like to give you a few tips on how you can keep good feng shui with you, even when you travel.

Good Feng Shui is about creating an atmosphere of balance and harmony within your living  and working spaces. While you and your family are away from home, you can also create a sense of tranquility and peace as well, with just a few simple “remedies.”

For instance. If you are staying in a hotel, try to book a room that’s not near or above stairwells, vending machines, or even above the entrance of the hotel itself.. Not only are these areas noisy, but the ‘shar chi’ (or negative energy) emanating from these areas may upset the emotional balance of you and your family.

With all the movement and stress of getting the family ready and moving toward your destination you will want to stay grounded. Packing a smooth stone or a rounded crystal in your luggage will keep you connected to the earth energy, and allow your own stress  to literally drain off and move away from you.

I know you won’t want to be an interior decorator and begin to move things around when you enter your hotel room, but there are a few things that take little time and will help create a healthier stay.

If there is a mirror at the foot of your bed, you should cover it when you go to sleep. If you can see your reflection on your TV screen,  it would be wise to cover this at night as well. This will help you sleep better. Often our sleep patterns are not as refreshing as when we are in our own beds so this will be of help.

To keep the sense of security of your home while you are away, bring photos of your loved ones and place them next to your bed.

I also bring one of my own pillows to give me that sense of my own bedroom while I am away.

Hotel rooms often have a musty and stagnant smell to them. I really hate this the most when I travel. It usually makes me feel sluggish and out of sorts. If I can’t throw open the windows for some fresh air, I have my own little emergency pack of scents that always go with me.

Since lighting scented candles may be an “issue” with the room fire alarms, I bring scented oils and rub a little on each light bulb. It’s safe and the scents are glorious. Potpourri is also in my bag, and I put a few small bowls of it around the room. Immediately, I cheer up!

While out and about and you pass a flower stand, buy some fresh posies for your room! Nothing will cheer you more than fresh flowers and wonderful aromas!

Yours in Good Feng Shui!

Feng Shui And Romance!

Are you looking for a new romance? Well, romance is in the air if you properly prepare!

Many single individuals often ask me how to draw in a new romantic partner using Feng Shui. Of course I tell them that feng shui is not a magic bullet to magically produce the love of your life  BUT, feng shui can certainly assist in bringing good energy to your home and perhaps drawing in that perfect mate.

When you create a bedroom that signals the universe that you are ready to share your life, you start the flow of energy in the right direction.

Foe instance, many single people set up their bedrooms with only themselves in mind. Of course  that would be logical since they are the only ones inhabiting the bedroom.

To signal the universe that you wish to share your space, you must begin by using “the power of two.”

Here are a few examples.

Even though you are the only one using the bed and you have your favorite side of the bed with an end table and lamp (why have two you ask)! This says clearly that you want to be alone!

You will want to set your bedroom up for two, so start by having another end table and lamp on the other side of the bed. Voila! It already is prepared for that special someone to share your space!

Color can create romance. Have a splash of Red, or Fuchsia in your bedroom. These colors create passion. Also, pink attracts Romance.  (Hanging a beautiful jeweled pink crystal) over your bed adds the color of love and romance.

Stay away from bright and busy patterns in the bedroom. Bright active colors are best in other rooms.

If you have items from past relationships, they MUST be extracted from the bedroom. You will not be able to bring in the new if you don’t release the past.

If possible, it’s best to buy a new bed after a relationship is over. At the very least, you should use new linens!

If you are a woman, please make sure that your bedroom isn’t all soft and fluffy. If it’s too sweet and frilly, a man won’t feel comfortable there.

DO NOT SLEEP UNDER A BEAM! This is feng shui 101! A beam will oppress your love life and also your health, so move the bed or use feng shui remedies to offset the problem.

Don’t flush away romance by having your bed too close to a bathroom. Always shut the door and keep the toilet seat down after you go to bed.

And of course, get rid of clutter in the bedroom! When you clear the clutter from your bedroom, you open up the room to new energy and a new love. If there is too much of your ‘stuff’ in your bedroom, you signal that there is no space left for anyone who may wish to share your life and/or bedroom!

De-clutter now!

Somewhere in your bedroom, hang a picture of a loving couple, never a single person. The images on your bedroom wall should be soft and loving, never an image that depicts loneliness, violence or sadness. (Be careful what you see on your walls. It reflects your life)!

To all of you looking for love, I wish you many blessings and the best of success!

Warmly

Elaine

Feng Shui, Exercise and Past Relationships

  • Don’t make your bedroom the focus of your workout. Remove exercise equipment. You don’t want your romantic relationship to feel like a workout, so remove those things which remind you of exercise.Remove any reminders of past relationships from your bedroom. This includes mementos, photos, journals, dried flowers, notes, love letters and old gifts from a former love. These items could be preventing you from allowing a new relationship into your life.
